Adam and Tristan: We think multiplying is easier, but division is really fun!  First, division was hard but then we thought about it and we got it!  We think division is easier then it looks too. Ms. Wilcox tought us an easier way to learn division.  If you really think to it, you will get it.  We'd also like to thank Miss Wilcox, because she has tought us a lot!  She is a really fun teacher and we are thankful to have her as our teacher.

We also took our timed multiplication test this week, hoping to improve our scores from last time.. Here is the link to the online test...

Ancient Heiroglyphics

Heiroglyphics were  around  so many years ago. This week our story is about a man who figured out what the heiroglyphics meant. His name was Jean-Francois Champollion. He was born in 1790. When he was 7, his older brother told him about General Napoleon. He read the Rosetta Stone.  He wanted to go to Egypt to read the ancient heiroghlphs. He did. He died in Paris in 1822. He was a really smart man.

Emily: I really enjoyed reading this week's story.  It was fun learning about hieroglyphs!

Ki:  I thought the Egypt  stuff was cool and interesting to learn.

Regina:  This week's story was awesome!  I liked making our own hieroglyphics.

Pretty Pink Dolphins

We have a story this week called "Encantado: Pink Dolphin of the Amazon River".  So, we are basing our blog this week on the story.  The Pink Dolphin is a fresh water mammal.  It is pink because capillaries are so close to its skin .  We compared and contrasted the pink dolphin with an ocean dolphin and here's what we discovered;  Pink dolphins they don't have a actuall fin they have a bump.  Also, they swim in rivers ( fresh water ) and they are more flexible and don't come up from the water.  They live in the Amazon River.  Here's a video and a picture.

Also, we had a few students comment about the story.
Emily: I really like this week's story, it's very interesting to read.  I love PINK DOLPHINS!!!
Rachel:  I like the story because I just learned that Pink dolphins are endangered, and I would like to help them not be endangered.
Shelby: I like the story this week because I NEVER KNEW PINK DOLPHINS WERE REAL!!!!!!!
Taylor: I loved the story this week I mean how cool is a PINK DOLPHIN! I wonder if one could fit in my bathtub!
Ki: I loved the story because the dolphins were pink and it looked cool with its head.
